Trade Show Trends:

  1. Trade show audit guidelines are becoming a hot issue, since everyone is more concerned about ROI. Show managers and organizers want to have good, healthy stats to report to exhibitors in order to get next year's participation. Look closely at your show book and ask your show organizers how they can help you get more benefit out of the show. They should have lots of ideas!
  2. Convention and Visitors Bureaus have a stake in trade show success, also, and many are offering help to show organizers in attracting attendees. Click here for an interesting article on this topic.
  3. The trade show industry has emerged stronger and leaner. Most shows report fewer attendees than in the late 1990's boom, BUT the attendees are of higher quality. Which would you rather have - quantity or quality?
  4. Smaller, regional shows are a growing part of the industry. They are less expensive and take less time away from the office. Look for these opportunities when you can. The quality of the attendees is usually very good at these shows.
  5. User conferences/vendor shows are increasing in popularity, as companies are organizing their own mini-trade shows. This makes sense for a lot of companies.
