Exhibitor Show Musings...
Exhibitor Show, the main trade show for the exhibit industry, was earlier this month in Las Vegas. Following are some observations I made while visiting the show:
*Cloth displays are all the rage. Spandex cloth in various shapes and sizes and designs. And theatrical lighting was popular in conjunction with the cloth displays. There were many dramatic designs and applications.
*I didn't see many giveaways. At least they weren't out and visible to everyone. I hope companies are using their giveaway money more wisely and giving better things to their good prospects.
*The hybrid displays were popular as well, with metal extrusion structure highly visible. These extrusion structures lend themselves well to spandex fabric coverings, or pair with more traditional graphics and panel systems parts.
Ipods were the hot giveaway!
*There seemed to be more preshow promotions this time, many through e-mail, but few gave me a compelling reason to visit.
*There was still some bad booth behavior - eating in the booth, sitting in the booth, talking on the cell in the booth - but for the most part people were alert and active. Of course, I wasn't there on the third day to observe booth staffers after 3 days in Vegas!
