Nomadic’s “No Questions Asked” Lifetime Warranty

August 4th, 2008

Its important for exhibitors with trade show displays to understand the product warranty on their investment. You should always make sure that your company has some type of guarantee if your trade show display fails. Most trade show companies will offer a limited manufacturer warranty. This means that your trade show display will be repaired or replaced if there is a defect in the materials or workmanship. However, these warranties do not cover usage. If your trade show display is damaged from user error, then you will be stuck with repair charges or purchasing a new trade show display.

Thompson / Kerr Displays takes pride in the fact that our Nomadic Instand Pop Up Display carries a “No Questions Asked” Lifetime Warranty. If your Pop Up Display ever fails to function properly, whether it’s a manufacturer problem or a usage problem, Nomadic Display will repair or replace the frame and hardware free of charge for the life of the product. Thompson / Kerr Displays will even cover the return shipping charges for your trade show display repairs.

Shipping, Traveling, Scheduling… Oh my!

July 1st, 2008

When buying a trade show display, investigate how you will ship it. Lightweight durable systems save on shipping and drayage. Keep an accurate record of actual weight, contents and number of containers. Specify the weight on your bill of lading. Consolidate materials in one tub or shrink wrap individual items on to one pallet. Don’t scrimp on shipping containers because re-doing damaged graphic scan be expensive.

Investigate reduced rates or special deals with the airlines for ten people or more traveling to and from the same city. Book early and ask hotels for any specials or corporate rates. Explore Saturday night stay-over rates, an extra night at the hotel may be less than the extra airfare. Use airport shuttles instead of taxis.

Pre-order show services at least 10-30 days prior to the show–electrical, phones, cleaning services, etc. The floor price is often 10-20% higher. Order more watt age than needed so you don’t risk an electrical breakdown and then have to pay a higher floor price.

Schedule setting up your trade show display during straight time and avoid weekends and overtime hours as much as possible as it can cost up to twice as much. When possible, use your own personnel to set up your trade show display. You will need to check the regulations specified by the exhibition hall.

All of these steps and measures can help reduce your cost and make your trade show experience easier and more cost-effective.

A Green Trade Show World

June 23rd, 2008

In keeping with the trade show communities push for “green” initiatives, we are pleased to announce that some of our manufacturers have recently taken steps towards reducing carbon footprints with a more eco-friendly fabric. In April, Nomadic launched their new Eco-Fi fabric, which contains polyester derived from 100% certified, post-consumer plastic bottles. Right now, they are offering them in two different styles of black. However, Nomadic is looking at expanding that fabric’s color range in the next few months for their trade show displays.

If you haven’t heard about Eco-Fi yet, I encourage you to contact local Thompson Kerr Displays to show you samples of the fabric. And if you decide to purchase a 10-foot Eco-Fi fabric pop up trade show display, you will help keep 80 bottles (which takes 700 years to decompose – yikes!) out of the landfill.

In the coming months, I hope to provide you with additional updates of other manufacturers showing their commitment to a greener and cleaner earth. Trade show displays cannot only promote your company, but they can promote the earth!

Why Trade Show Leads Lead Nowhere!

June 11th, 2008

Our industry statistics show that over 80% of leads collected at trade shows are not followed-up on. Why would companies who spend billions of dollars every year going to trade shows to get leads, not follow up? I think I have the answer.

  1. They don’t plan for the follow-up before the show. You try to plan for everything for your trade show display, all of the little details, but if you don’t plan for the follow-up before you go, you won’t do it. You’re very busy when you come back from a show, having been out of the office for days, and if you haven’t got the plan in place for the follow-up, the leads will sit in a pile, staring at you, pleading with you, and then it’s too late!

Who is going to follow-up?

How will they follow-up?

When will they follow-up

What happens after the follow-up?

  1. There are too many leads. If you are bringing back hundreds of leads from shows, generated by your trade show display, how can anyone follow-up with that many? And, why are you bringing back so many? Did you talk to every one of those leads, and have notes to remind about the conversation on ALL of them? If not, they’re NOT LEADS. They’re names. You could have stayed home and googled to find out that info.

Sales and marketing personnel fight about leads all the time. Marketing gets them, and sales doesn’t follow through. I suspect that if asked, sales would say the leads are no good. So, Marketing professionals, only give sales people qualified leads. That way they will have higher expectations and respond accordingly.

I thought that the lead management ideas in this (http://www.nomadicdisplay.com/blog/2008/01/default.aspx) blog were some of the best I’ve seen. Check it out.

The Trade Show Display that Has it ALL!

June 6th, 2008

If there were a description of every exhibitors dream trade show display, it would include: eye-catching, versatile, easy to set-up, light-weight, and of course, eco-friendly.

Could there be one trade show display that would embody all of these lofty attributes? Yes, yes and yes! The Xpressions trade show displays.

Consider this:

Eye-catching – With its many graphic configuration options, both 3-D and flat, each exhibitor can design a smashing, colorful feast for the eye.

Versatile – The graphics don’t have to come off the frame, but they can, if you want to change them out, change their position, or best yet, wash them!

Easy to set-up – If a folding sports chair is too difficult for you, don’t try this display. Otherwise, 5 seconds is all it takes. Everything is attached to the frame, except if you get lights, so pop it up!

Light-weight – A lot of trade show displays tout how light-weight they are, but this one really is! An 8’x10’ back wall weighs in at a hefty 20 lbs, including graphics! You can carry an 8’x10’ backwall and counter in one bag or case.

Eco-Friendly – The aluminum frame is recyclable. The tension fabric graphics are made of recycled material. This light trade show display saves energy when shipping.
